This one-of-a-kind patchwork quilt block is made from upcycled silk kimono fabric, sourced from a cut-and-sew workshop specializing in home decor. Each silk remnant is foundation-pieced onto a cotton backing, ensuring both structure and durability while preserving the depth and dimension of the fabric’s original folds. The edges are folded rather than trimmed, creating a soft, padded texture that adds richness to the piece.

A fusion of tradition and artistry

The patchwork features traditional floral motifs, geometrics, and shibori patterns. Warm hues of orange, red, and purple dominate while touches of metallic gold and silver add an elegant shimmer.
