This exclusive tote bag project was created by Kazue Nakajima in collaboration with the Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI), blending the timeless elegance of 18th- and 19th-century European fashion with modern embroidery artistry. The design is inspired by the iconic 100 Ladies series, inviting you to add your own creative touch to a collection of historically dressed figures. 

The artist provides embroidery stitch and thread details for four women and one man, giving you a jumping-off point to design the rest of the figures as you wish. Think pastel gowns with delicate lace, opulent metallic trims, and regal cravats. Whether you keep it historically accurate or go wild with colors and textures, this tote will be uniquely yours.

• 100% cotton tote bag featuring pre-printed historic figures
• Instructions with a pattern chart for 5 figures (written in Japanese, but you can use these instructions to translate it.
