Owls in the Forest Embroidery Kit

Capture the charm of woodland owls in the middle of fall. This project will have you stitching tiny owls that only come out on a Japanese autumn morning. 

The technique for this kit is free stitching, which is best for intermediate users. Ambitious beginners willing to select their thread colors and stitches will do well, too. The project is free-stitch, which means that it does not have a stitch and color chart for you to follow. Instead, you are encouraged to use the pack of threads and your creativity to embroider the pre-printed cloth as you wish. 

This series was designed by Chicchi. Chicchi is actually a pair of twin sisters, Chie and Mie Matsumoto, who love to express their creativity through embroidery motifs using life-like animals and plants in a story-like setting.

This kit comes with instructions in Japanese* as well as all materials required to create the curious hedgehog design from Chicchi's Forest Animals series. Each kit includes:

• 100% cotton DMC no. 25 embroidery thread 
• Pre-printed linen embroidery cloth 
• No. 9 embroidery needle 
• Instructions written only in *Japanese, but with detailed illustrations.

*Here's how we work with our Japanese language projects. On our phone, we have an app called Google translate. This app will translate almost any language to English. With the app open, select the little icon for the camera, and it will use your phone's camera to look at any written thing, and in real time, it will show that thing as English - right there on your screen! It's very cool and actually kinda fun to use.
