Sashiko Coaster Kit - Houses & Trees

A simple and satisfying project that adds a handmade touch to homes.

This sashiko kit allows you to create two coasters with two different patterns: a set of houses and a forest of trees. The cotton fabric is pre-printed, so all you have to do is stitch along the lines. Those new to sashiko can definitely work on this project (kids included). 

Plus, you can add tassels with the leftover thread to make it even prettier!

Sashiko stitching is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that uses simple, repetitive running stitches — often on white thread on indigo fabric. It started as a practical way to reinforce and repair worn-out clothing, but nowadays, it's more of a decorative art.

In this kit:

• Sashiko cloth with the design printed on it

• Sashiko thread, 100% cotton

• Needle

• Instructions written in Japanese* with diagrams

What you'll need:

• Sewing thread
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
• Iron
